Arlington is the 50th-most populous city in the United States, the seventh-most populous city in the state of Texas. If you have any information to add to this section, please email us at support@gumsnroses.com   photo by City of Arlington FD photo by City of Arlington FD photo by City of Arlington FD Fire - EMS Stations  in  the City of Arlington The Arlington Fire Department - consists 288 personnel assigned to the Fire Rescue division, with a complement of 91 assigned to each of the three shifts. At any given time, there is a minimum of 84 employees working on a rotating shift of 24-hours on, 48-hours off at 17 fire stations to comprise 3 shifts, designated as A, B and C shift. Each Shift is divided into two Battalions of 8-9 stations. Each Battalion and shift is managed by a Battalion Chief who oversees the day-to-day activities, responds to major incidents, and works to facilitate concurrent activities to support the leadership of the organization. Minimum staffing for AFD units is typically three to four personnel. All Fire-Rescue members are certified to at least the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Intermediate level, while approximately half the personnel are EMT-Paramedics. The division provides advanced life support medical care in association with American Medical Response, which staffs the ambulances within the city.
